Privacy Policy
MD Opener is designed to make Markdown viewing simple without compromising privacy. This page explains what we collect, what we do not collect, and how file handling works.
Files stay on your device
When you open a Markdown file in MD Opener, the file is processed inside your browser. We do not upload the file, store it on our servers, or share it with third parties.
This local-first model is the main reason teams can use MD Opener for internal notes, working drafts, and documentation review with confidence.
Minimal site analytics
We may use privacy-conscious analytics to understand broad site usage patterns such as which pages are visited most often.
These analytics are never used to inspect your Markdown content and are not intended to identify you personally.
Cookie usage
We use minimal cookies or local storage to remember simple preferences such as cookie consent and UI behavior.
These preferences help us provide a smoother experience without storing your files or document content.
Security approach
Because Markdown files are rendered locally, the attack surface is reduced compared with workflows that require server uploads.
We also keep dependencies updated and serve the site over HTTPS to protect the surrounding browsing session.
Contact about privacy
If you have questions about privacy, analytics, or handling sensitive documentation, contact us through the support page.
We are happy to clarify how the product works before your team adopts it.
Advertising and third-party services
If we display Google AdSense or other third-party advertising, those providers may place or read cookies on your browser and may use web beacons, IP addresses, or similar identifiers to measure delivery, prevent fraud, and provide relevant ads. We do not send the contents of your Markdown files to advertising providers.
Where required, we ask for consent before using non-essential cookies or personalized advertising. You can decline non-essential cookies in the notice. We may update this policy when advertising services are added or changed.
